This journey began
with a need.

Our founder, Adriana, an outdoor product designer and passionate hiker, wanted a harness that would support her dogs—Tibet and Maya—without restricting their movement on daily mountain hikes. When no existing gear lived up to her expectations, she set out to design her own.

With her background in the outdoor industry and a deep love for design, dogs, and nature, Adriana crated a harness at home that delivers ergonomic support, lightweight comfort, and trail-ready durability—all while using recycled synthetic fabrics that honor her ethical values.

why Kopermut?

The name is a tribute to Maya, Adriana’s copper-toned dog who inspired a life of adventure. It also nods to the iconic copper glow of the Dolomite sunsets, a landscape that deeply influenced the brand's creation.

The word “mutt” to us isn’t a limitation—it’s a celebration of diversity, resilience, and individuality. We believe every dog, no matter their breed or background, deserves to experience the freedom of the outdoors. 

Prototypes were developed in her home sewing studio, tested, and refined alongside a team of like-minded women hikers and their dogs—real-world adventurers who helped shape gear that performs where it matters most: on the trail, in unpredictable conditions, and over time.

I'm Julia — a passionate dog trainer, co-author of a dog hiking book, and a nature lover who’s always out exploring the mountains with my dogs. Whether it’s an easy walk or a challenging summit hike, we’re out every day. In my training, I focus on building a trusting, positive relationship between dogs and their people — with joy, patience, and lots of time in nature. On social media, I share our hiking adventures, tips for the trail, and inspiration for life with dogs on the move. I helped Kopermut™ testing their products.
